TRIBUTES have been paid to a former ECHO political reporter who has died.
Ian Craig, 64, who interviewed five prime ministers during his career, was found dead at his London home. He worked in Liverpool before moving to the Manchester Evening News.
Michael Unger, a former ECHO editor, said: “I had the absolute privilege of working with him in both Liverpool and Manchester and he was outstanding in both cities.”
Phil Key, former arts editor of the ECHO’s sister paper the Daily Post, said: “He was a fearless writer who made enemies as well as friends but who was determined to be totally accurate.”. See Ian Hernon’s column on Page 29
